Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions, clear answers.
Stakk is a free digital ID wallet for Android. It lets you scan, encrypt, and carry all your identification cards on your phone.
Yes, completely free. No ads, no premium tier, no in-app purchases.
Your data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored only on your device in an encrypted database backed by Android Keystore. PINs are hashed with PBKDF2 (100,000 iterations). We don't operate any servers, so your information never leaves your phone. The app also blocks screenshots in the app switcher and auto-locks after inactivity.
Yes, by design. Because Stakk stores all data locally on your device and never transmits anything to external servers, there is no personal data for us to collect, process, or share. GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly through the app's built-in functions. Under CCPA/CPRA, there are no categories of personal information to disclose because we collect none.
No. Stakk uses the Android BiometricPrompt API, which means the Android operating system handles all biometric matching in a secure hardware enclave. The app never accesses, collects, or stores your actual fingerprint templates or facial geometry. It only receives a pass/fail result from the OS. This applies to all biometric privacy laws including Illinois BIPA.
No. Stakk contains zero tracking technologies: no cookies, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, no advertising networks, and no device fingerprinting. There is no background network activity whatsoever.
No. Stakk works entirely offline with no signup required. Just install and start scanning.
